Mrs SA Official Charities
One of the key brand pillars is Community work. In recent years, Mrs. South Africa Pty Ltd has decided to diversify its offering of charitable work and as such there are now three official charities including South Africa Animal Cancer Association (SAACA); Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and Family Protection Association (FAMPRO). The official charities are separate companies to Mrs South Africa, and run independently to Mrs. South Africa.Â
During the finalist stages of the competition, Finalists host a fundraiser for one of the official charities. After Mrs South Africa’s operational costs are covered for managing the fundraising project, the proceeds are then donated to the official charities, at end of the campaign. Thirty percent is retained for Mrs South Africa’s operational costs and the majority of seventy percent is donated to the charities. The Finalists have raised a significant amount for the official charities yearly. Mrs South Africa is delighted to share the official handovers for prior fundraising campaigns below.
The Official charities also select Ambassador, which is awarded to the Finalist/s who raises the most of amount of funds and awareness, for that particular charity. This is also a special award awarded at the Preliminary Competition annually.

South Africa Animal Cancer Association (SAACA)
SAACA was established as a need for animals with cancer. As the 4th in the world SAACA will fill the gap for the animals with cancer in Southern Africa. Cancer has always been seen as a human illness, but little does everybody know that animals are diagnosed and die of cancer as humans do. In one study, 45% of the dogs that reached 10 years of age or older died of cancer. SAACA is the first organisation in Africa that will focus on cancer and animals. SAACA’s main objectives are working with Onderstepoort as a research institute. Secondly, to do sterilization in rural areas and to educate the public on the topic. SAACA is so excited to have taken hands with the faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria, who will be conducting the research of animals with cancer.

Family Protection Association (FAMPRO)
FAMPRO is a pillar of hope standing tall on behalf of the vulnerable and exploited offering them strength, support, and compassion in their time of dire need, allowing them a real chance in life so that society can bloom to a tapestry of love and empathy. Their team of experienced professionals have always been passionate about victims of family abuse, of any kind, and looking at statistics of abuse and violence, in families, has shown shocking numbers but what they never show is how many of the victims are saved. Fees and costs are associated with access to justice at every stage of the legal process. Such expenses constitute a major barrier for those who cannot afford them. That’s when FAMPRO realised how many victims were stuck in their environment just because of a lack of financial resources.
