Mrs South Africa should be:

Mrs South Africa Pty Ltd is not an Non-profit Organisation (NPO). We are a company and run as such. As such, fundraising, sponsorship and certain event attendance & involvement will be part of your journey as a semi-finalist and finalist journey, for Mrs South Africa -  some of which is used towards company operating costs. The Mrs SA journey will be discussed in detail with entrants who chosen as a semi-finalists and/or finalists. We are open and transparent about the journey and are there to support all entrants throughout.

Entrants understand and acknowledge that all prizes received are subject to sponsorship.

Although Mrs South Africa is more than just a pretty face, entrants will be required to model in swimwear, as per International Pageantry regulations

The entrant acknowledges the current calendar and will avail herself accordingly.

The Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into by the Mrs SA Management Team or by the judges, at any time.

Contestant FAQs

1. What are the entry criteria for Mrs South Africa?

You must meet all the following criteria in order to enter :

  1. Be a South African female citizen, with valid South Africa ID document AND
  2. Be between the ages of 25 – 50, by 1st November in the year of entry AND
  3. Be legally married, with valid marriage certificate from the Department of Home Affairs

2. When do entries open ?

The entry form for the following year will be made available on our website around October of each year. You must complete this form, in full, on the website and attach all the following documents to it : SA ID, SA Marriage Certificate, two entry photos AND proof of payment for the non-refundable entry fee of R606,05

Once all the above steps are completed, you must avail yourself in person, for the National Casting (if applicable), in order to be considered for a Semi-finalist place. You can consult the current calendar for this date.

3. What photos should I have to enter?

We require one full length and one head and shoulder photo. It does not need to be professional photos. Photos must be

  • From the last year
  • High resolution
  • In daywear
  • Positioned against plain background

Photos should not be

  • Wedding Photos
  • Selfies
  • of you dressed in fancy costumes, wedding dresses, gym wear or active wear

4. Do you have any weight or height restrictions?

No, we do not have any weight or height restrictions for entering Mrs South Africa. We embrace women of all heights, sizes, body shapes etc.

5. Are tattoos allowed?

Yes, tattoos are allowed

6. Do I need to have a valid passport to enter?

No, you do not need a valid passport to enter Mrs South Africa but you must apply for it and obtain it as soon as possible. This is because you may need to travel overseas for the Mrs World pageant, should you win Mrs South Africa

7. Do I need to have my Driver’s license to enter?

No, you do not need a drivers licence to enter. However, you should apply for obtain this as soon as possible. This is because the prize package may include a car

8. I work full time. Can I enter Mrs South Africa? 

Yes. We have had many contestants and titleholders who have had full time jobs. The Management Team does take this into account when planning the calendar and always try to plan around school holidays, long weekends etc. You should consult the calendar for the year ahead and understand the compulsory dates that you will be required to present yourself for an event, judging etc. We then advise  that you sit down with your employer to discuss these dates, in advance of entering Mrs South Africa

9. I am traditionally married. Can I enter Mrs South Africa?

Yes, according to South African law, customary or traditional marriages are recognised. We recognise these as well. You do, however, need to apply for and obtain your valid marriage certificate from the Department of Home Affairs. This must be  attached when completing your entry form

10. I am engaged. Can I enter Mrs South Africa? 

No, you need to be legally married, with a valid SA marriage certificate, when you enter

11. I am married to a foreigner. Can I enter Mrs South Africa? 

Yes. You can enter if YOU are a South African citizen

12. I am married to a female. Can I enter Mrs South Africa? 

Yes, you may enter if you are married to same sex partner. We recognise all marriages including same sex marriages

13. Do I have to be born female to enter Mrs South Africa ? 

No, you do not need to be born female to enter. However, your SA ID document must reflect your amended gender as female

14. What if I am pregnant. Can I enter?

We do not discriminate against pregnant contestants. However, we do not recommend this as the year will be very busy and this may add additional pressure and stress to your health, which we would not want

15. Do I have to be a mother to enter?

No, you don’t need to have children to enter Mrs South Africa

16. What are the minimum educational qualifications to enter?

There are no minimum educational qualifications to enter

17. Do I need modelling training or prior pageant experience to enter ?

No ,you need not have prior pageant experience to enter

18. What can I expect as a contestant?

• Fees are charged per person and are inclusive of VAT. • The Fees include: ENTRY INTO MRS SOUTH AFRICA • successful completion of the 2021 online entry form with copies of relevant documents and proof of payment attached. This will be confirmed by a website-generated confirmation of your Registration. Documents such as ID’s, marriage certificates, drivers licences, passports etc are collected during the competition process, for purposes of verifying eligibility to enter, as well as for prize and travel purposes The confidential personal information required for executing our competition processes is stored on a secure platform, namely the User’s personal, contact and address information. Delivery address and telephone numbers will be kept in the strictest confidence by the Provider and not sold or made known to anonymous third parties without initial consent acquired on sign-up. Only the necessary information, that is the delivery address and contact phone number will be made known to third parties delivering any pageant related items or products, where courier services may be required, or in order to promote the user in the realm of professional interest. Credit card details are not collected or stored by the Provider under any circumstances.
