Mrs SA announces three official Charities
Mrs South Africa has decided to diversify its offering of charitable work as of August 2021. As such, there are now three official charities. The 2021 finalists will be fundraising in aid of the charities noted below. After Mrs SA operational costs are covered for managing the fundraising projects, the proceeds will then be donated to the official charities, by Mrs SA. Here is more info on the three charities who have chosen to partner with Mrs SA Pty Ltd:
Women4Women (W4W)
  • Women4Women is one of the official NPO’s for Mrs SA
  • Registration Number: 2017/081097/08
  • W4W is a separate entity to Mrs SA
  • Women4Women’s goals of educating and improving the lives of young women from previously disadvantaged backgrounds are a natural fit with Mrs SA and speak to our shared values and purpose
  • As the official NPO, their events or requirements will take priority during the year
  • Contestants are requested to become change makers and community upliftment ambassadors to improve the lives of the less fortunate and enable education for those who ordinarily cannot afford it
  • Last year we raised around R350,000 for Women4Women. It is usually more, but 2020 saw many events and sponsorships face unprecedented pressure because of the global pandemic
  • W4W official documents are available on their website
CANSA
  • CANSA is the leader in the fight against cancer in SA since 1931 and in 2021 will be celebrating their 90th anniversary
  • The purpose of the CANSA is to offer a unique, integrated service to the public and to all people affected by cancer
  • It’s mission is to be the preferred non-profit leader that enables research with regards to lowering cancer risk, educating the public regarding symptoms, screening and risk reduction, and providing care and support to all people affected by cancer
  • Furthermore their advocacy team performs a Watchdog Role, striving to ensure that South African policy makers are influenced with regards to important cancer control issues, and patients’ right to healthcare is protected.
  • CANSA is committed to connecting people facing cancer with information, day-to-day help as well as emotional support they need in the communities where they live
  • Their aim is to ensure that cancer survivors and their loved ones don’t have to face cancer alone. They are here to support them through every step of their cancer journey
  • Mrs SA has raised approximately R4.8m for CANSA in the past
South African Animal Cancer Association (SAACA)
  • SAACA’s mission it to be the one stop NPC in Southern Africa, with information on animals with cancer.
  • Vision: To fund research in animals with cancer. To provide education and information. To help and support. To help with sterilisation.
  • Values: To fight for the health of the animals who cannot speak for themselves.
  • SAACA was established as a need for animals with cancer
  • As the 4th in the world, SAACA will fill the gap for the animals with cancer in Southern Africa. Cancer has always been seen as a human illness, but little does everybody know that animals are diagnosed and die of cancer as humans do.
  • In one study, 45% of the dogs that reached 10 years of age or older died of cancer
  • SAACA is the first organisation in Africa that will focus on cancer and animals.
  • SAACA’s main objectives are working with Onderstepoort as a research institute and secondly to do sterilization in rural areas and to educate the public on the topic
  • SAACA is so excited to have taken hands with the faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria, who will be conducting the research of animals with cancer
