Thenjiwe Mdluli, 31 years old, from Edenvale, Johannesburg, walked away  with the crown of Mrs South Africa 2021 at Emperors Palace.

The red carpet hybrid event was a spectacular event, comprising of a VIP Viewing experience at Emperors Palace and a live stream broadcast from Studio Iris that was streamed live on Timeslive, the Sunday Times website and the Mrs South Africa platforms.

Thenjiwe impressed the judging panel which was headed up by philanthropist and business woman, Matapa Maila, who held the title in 2019 along with other female entrepreneurs Olwethu Ndoda, Aldytha da Silva, and reigning queen Jacqueline Ferns.

Well known South African businessman, Vusi Zwane, joined the otherwise all-female panel as a guest judge on the night of the finale.  The judging process was overseen by independent auditors from BDO South Africa.

Thenji Mdluli is a strong business women who is passionate about Wellness and Nutrition. Her dream is to change the thinking around nutrition and eradicate the scourge of lifestyle disease that is prevalent in the low-income communities.

She believes in the unlimited power of women and hopes that women can see themselves in her story and be inspired to become the best versions of themselves.

Sumaiya Omar (38) from Cape Town was crowned the first princess and Zikhona Ngata (33) from East London was crowned second princess.

By winning the coveted title, Thenjiwe Mduli becomes an ambassador and spokesperson for South African women, for the organisation and its sponsors, and represent the country at Mrs World.

Meet the 2021 Titleholders of Mrs South Africa




My name is Thenji Mdluli. I am 30 years old and from Edenvale, Johannesburg. I have a BCom degree in Risk Management from Unisa and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Wits Business school. I am married to Sibonelo Mdluli and we have 2 beautiful children, a boy and girl. We also run an Engineering Consulting firm together. I am passionate about Wellness and Nutrition and my goal is to become a health coach. My dream is to change our thinking around nutrition and eradicate the scourge of lifestyle diseases that is prevalent in our low-income communities. I believe in the unlimited power of women. I hope that women can see themselves in my story and be inspired to become the best versions of themselves.

Zikhona Nxgata, 1st Princess 2021

I am Zikhona Ngxata, a 33 year oldphenomenal woman, from East London,Eastern Cape. I am married to my loving husband of 11 years, Luvuyo Ngxata and blessed with 3 beautiful daughter, Blessed, Hazina and Neema. I studied Public Relations at the University of Johannesburg. I am Certified in Sales through Mercedes Benz Global training and a Certified Leader through Rotary Leadership Program. I am a Social Entrepreneur thus being a Chairperson of Beauty With A Purpose NPO, where I empower young girls from previously disadvantaged communities through Skills Development, Education, Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Technology for the past 7 years. I am passionate about youth and community development.

I am Liz-Meri Holton. I am 26 years old and live in CapeTown. I am a beauty and aesthetic therapist. I am internationally trained in lashes and brows and a Phibrows artist as well as Facilitator. I own a small business in Cape Town, and run an NPO “Inkanyezi", where I upskill and train unprivileged young women to become independent. I’m married to my best friend and we have the privilege to raise two beautiful boys together.
