The Mrs South Africa Beauty Pageant and Emperor’s Palace are delighted to announce that former Mrs South Africa (2011), Lynné de Jager, will be representing South Africa at the Mrs Universe Pageant, taking place in Aruba in the Caribbean from the 4 to 12 August 2013.
Lynné de Jager (29) was originally due to attend the Mrs World Pageant scheduled to take place in China during the month of September, but due to the postponement of the Mrs World Pageant and withdrawal of former Mrs Universe Delegate Juanita Mitchell, the Mrs South Africa Organisation elected to offer the opportunity to Lynné de Jager to compete at Mrs Universe 2013.

In addition, The Mrs South Africa Organisation will send the newly crowned Mrs South Africa (2013), to attend the Mrs World Pageant – this date is yet to be confirmed.
After confirming with the Mrs Universe Ltd Organisation, we have been assured that the fact that Lynné de Jager does not (yet) have children (which was part of their prerequisites in the past) will not be held against her and that their criteria is to find the most “honourable and deserving married woman” to carry the title of Mrs Universe 2013 regardless of her age and motherhood status.
Lynné de Jager was crowned Mrs South Africa in 2011 and has since then made her mark in South Africa. She is well known and loved by the South African media and public and has achieved many pinnacles during her time as Mrs South Africa 2011.
The current Mrs South Africa, Fikile Mekgoe, will compete at the Mrs Globe Pageant in October 2013. The Mrs South Africa Organisation is the licence holder of 4 International Titles (Mrs World, Mrs Globe, Mrs Earth and Mrs Universe) which therefore enables them to send more than one representative/delegate to compete internationally.
The Mrs South Africa Beauty Pageant is confident that Lynné de Jager will make South Africa proud at Mrs Universe and believes she has a chance of bringing home the crown.
The Mrs South Africa Organisation and Lynné de Jager would like to thank Emperors Palace and Inexma 144 for making Lynné’s journey to Aruba and Mrs Universe possible. Lynné will unveil her gowns made by South African designers Michael Bezuidenhout and Anél Botha, at her farewell function to be held at Emperors Palace before her departure.
